MEJUNJE

Es un proyecto colaborativo de Mercedes Villalba y Julián Gatto. Como hay varios intereses y actividades que comparten — el dibujo, la jardinería, carpintería, poesía, caminar mirando los patios, etc. —mejunje se convirtió en un proyecto que trata de reunir saberes de todas las maneras que le sean posibles. Creemos que quizás sea necesario volver a saber un poco de todo, en lugar de ir haciendo de los saberes disciplinas cada vez mas especificas y separadas. Quizás, creemos, ahi esté la clave para hacer cosas de una manera más independiente y sustentable.
De febrero a abril de 2009 estuvimos Tokyo y en este blog anotamos lo que fuimos haciendo.

ABOUT US

Mejunje is the collaborative research project of Argentine artists Mercedes Villalba and Julián Gatto. Since they have many common interests and activities — namely drawing, gardening, carpentry, writing poetry, taking walks, peeping into other people’s gardens to see how they tend them, etc — Mejunje instantly became a multidisciplinary project of ‘knowledge-gathering’. In these times were the emphasis of ‘valuable’ knowledge is all about specificity and compartmentation, they feel that perhaps it is necessary to go back to knowing ‘a little bit of everything’— this might be the key to more sustainable, independent and responsible processes for art making and living in general.
